📈Using the Item Sales Report

The Item Sales Report provides detailed sales data for individual products over a selected date range, including quantities sold, costs, stock on hand, promotional performance, and gross profit (GP%) breakdowns.

Open the Item Sales Report tool

In Convenience, go to the Printing tab and select Item Sales Report.

Set your reporting options

You can customise your report using the options below:

Store
If applicable, select the store for which you want to generate the report.

History Date Range
Choose the date range for which you want to view item sales data.

Active/Inactive & Item Type
Select whether to include only active, only inactive, or both item types.
Choose whether to include Host, Direct, InStore items, or any combination.

Filter your item selection (optional)

You can narrow your report using:

  • Department / Sub-Department / Group / Supplier

  • Items — double-click a line to search for specific items

  • Load Items from Order Number — use data from a PDE-generated order

  • Filters — apply custom saved filters or use Metcash-specific settings like:

    • Core Range Indicators

    • Product Grades (if required)

    • Exclude certain items if needed

Choose the display order

In Item Level Report Order, choose how you want the report sorted.

  • Default is Dept/Alpha, which sorts items based on department number, not department name

Select the report content

In Report Types, choose what specific report you want to generate.
Only one type can be selected.

In Options, apply extra filters to further refine your results.
Multiple options can be selected here.

Save and reuse reports

If you’ve configured a report with filters or layouts you want to reuse:

  • Click Save to store it

  • Use Open to load the saved report later without redoing the setup

Generate and export the report

When ready:

  • Click Preview

  • Once generated, choose to Print or Save the report

  • Click Close when finished
