As you start adding items, you may find that you’re entering many items that are similar — just with small variations.
For example:
Coca-Cola 375ml and Coca-Cola Raspberry 375ml.
Creating each of these from scratch can get repetitive. That’s where the Clone option comes in — it helps you create similar items much faster.
Here’s how to use it:

In Item Maintenance, select the item you want to clone.
(Tip: If you’re adding a brand-new item that’s unrelated to existing products, you can still use Clone to start from a similar item.) -
Once you’ve selected the item, click Clone at the top of the screen.
If you had Prompt for Item Number ticked at the bottom of the window, make sure you enter the new Item Number when cloning.
When the item is cloned, all existing information will be copied across — except for the APN (barcode).
You’ll need to review the item and update any fields that should be changed, and don’t forget to enter the new item’s APN.
Once you have finished, save the item, and send it to the registers.
And that’s it — you’ve successfully cloned your item! ✨
Cloning is a great way to save time when adding similar items — just remember to double-check the key details before sending it to the register.
