Customer accounts help you grow your business by serving organisations, rewarding loyal shoppers, and offering payment plans. All account types are managed from the Account Masterfile in Convenience.
This series teaches you to create and manage debtor, loyalty, and layby accounts.
Account Types
Debtor Accounts 💳
Let customers charge purchases to their account and pay later. Perfect for organisations shopping at your store.
Key features:
- Set credit limits
- Generate account statements
- Exclude specific departments (e.g., no tobacco)
Loyalty Accounts 🎁
Reward customers with points for every dollar spent. Points can be redeemed for discounts.
Key features:
- Configure points per dollar
- Choose redemption method (standard or block)
- Split points with community accounts
Layby Accounts 🛍️
Let customers pay for items over time without interest. Customer receives items once fully paid.
Key features:
- No interest charges
- Configurable cancellation fees
- Automatic payment tracking
💡 Tip: Create Debtor + Loyalty accounts to combine charging and points features.
Key Account Statuses
Active - Account is usable at registers
Inactive - Account exists but can't be used (preserves transaction history)
Deleted - Account and all history permanently removed
💡 Tip: Mark accounts inactive instead of deleting to preserve customer data.
