🪙 Checking Loyalty Customer-Only Promotions

Loyalty customer-only promotions are becoming increasingly popular, offering exclusive deals to engaged and returning shoppers. If your store is running IGA Rewards or Truly Local, here's how to make sure the right promotions are set to loyalty customers only.

Identifying Loyalty-Only Promotions

Open Convenience, go to the Inventory tab and click Promotions

PROMOTIONS

Browse the Promotions list and look for a ✅ in the VIP column. This indicates that the promotion is restricted to loyalty customers.

If there’s no tick, check the Promo Type column to identify the correct promotion.

Common Promo Types:

  • IR – IGA Rewards (used in large IGA stores)

  • SL – Support Lines (for small-to-medium IGA stores)

  • MW – Members Rewards (for Foodworks Truly Local

What to Do if There’s No Tick in the VIP Column

If a promotion is missing the ✅ in the VIP column, it means it hasn’t been set to loyalty customers only. Here’s how to fix it:

  • Double-click on the promotion to open its details.
  • In the Exclusive To box, tick the rewards program your store uses:

    • IGA – for IGA Rewards

    • TRULYLOCAL – for Foodworks Truly Local

  • Click Finish, then select Initiate/Terminate to send the update to the registers.
Initiate Terminate REWARDS

💡 If the wrong promotion is selected or you need to remove a loyalty restriction, simply untick the box instead of ticking it.

Missing the Correct Promo Type?

Sometimes the required promo type isn’t available and needs to be enabled manually.

Open Convenience, go to the Setup tab and click Promotion Types

Promotion Types-1

Search for the correct promo type in the list, or click Add to create a new one.

When creating or editing:

  • Tick Separate Batch

  • If using IGA Rewards, also tick Exclusive to IGA Rewards Members

Here's how that will look:

Once added, the correct promo types will be available the next time a host file is processed.

You can also manually assign the promotion type when editing a promotion!

What’s Next?

Once your promotions are set up, make sure customers can see them in-store by printing the correct member labels.
