✏️ Add an Item with the Controller
If your store syncs to a Controller, you may notice the Add Item process looks a little different than what you’re used to.
When you click Add in Item Maintenance, a new window will open.

Why this screen appears
The system first checks if the item already exists at the Controller before you create it yourself.
This helps prevent double-ups, keeping your data clean and consistent across the store and Controller.
👉 In some cases, you may also need to confirm with your head office whether your store is allowed to create items. The ability to create new items can be enabled or disabled at the Controller level.
You can search using:

Item number
-
APN
-
Description
If you find the item, select it and click Create New Item.
If you don’t find it, just select Create New Item to continue adding it as usual.

💡 This prompt also appears when using prompt for a new item number or cloning an item.
Editing the item
Once the item is in the system, editing it works the same way you’re used to.
The ability to change an item’s price is usually enabled, but—like creating new items—it can be disabled from the Controller. If you run into issues changing a price, reach out to your head office.
